Enhancing Climate Change Resilience in East Africa

The Enhancing Climate Change Resilience in East Africa (ECREA) project, led by the International Centre for Tropical Agriculture (CIAT), aims to bolster the resilience and adaptive capacity of East African nations, including Kenya, against the impacts of extreme weather events and long-term climate change. In Kenya, the project is being implemented in Counties including Machakos, Nakuru, Elgeyo Marakwet and Homa bay. ECREA focuses on improving access to enhanced weather and climate information services for approximately 400,000 bean farmers, thereby supporting informed decision-making and sustainable agricultural practices. Through the integration of scientific research with practical applications, the project seeks to strengthen food security, promote sustainable livelihoods, and contribute to the overall climate resilience of the region.
