KMD Awarded Certificate of Excellence
Recognition for provision of exemplary services to the people of Kenya
The Kenya Meteorological Department (KMD) has been awarded the prestigious County and Town Excellence Award 2024 by the Town and County Planners Association of Kenya. The department was recognized for its outstanding contribution in delivering timely early warning weather and climate services to communities across Kenya. Mr. Muriuki, Acting Director and Principal of the Institute for Meteorological Training and Research (IMTR), accepted the award on behalf of Dr. Gikungu, Director of KMD, in the presence of staff from both IMTR and KMD's administration. The Town and County Planners Association of Kenya, a professional body of town, county, and urban planners, is dedicated to promoting professional development, public education, sustainable development, and the protection of both the built and natural environment.
