The department is committed to improving the quality and reach of its services, fostering greater understanding of meteorological information among policymakers and the public, and advancing its goal of a weather-ready nation.

Projects
Several initiatives are underway to strengthen weather forecasting and dissemination in Kenya. These include the modernization of observation networks, capacity building for forecasters, and the development of digital platforms for timely alerts and forecasts. Projects supported by national and international partners are also enhancing early warning systems, improving public access to weather information, and fostering the use of innovative tools such as mobile apps and social media to reach more users effectively.
